Official Squatch Watchers

:lau:lau:lau:gig:gig:gig:gig:gig:clap:clap

that's adorable. Have you tried poking back when the baby pushes out. I remember one of mine leg to kick her foot I assumed out and I would poke back at it and then she wouldn't keep kicking. That was my favorite part. Or when they would drag their hand or foot across and you could see it move. Probably the thing I miss the most about being pregnant.
I remember those alien baby in the tummy moments like they were yesterday.

So I went to check on Klaus again this evening and she was bleeding again and her crop was smaller but felt squishy. So I cleaned her up and she was willing to eat so I was able to get some Monistat in her. I ended up having to break up tiny pieces of bread and squeeze some of the Monistat on it and she ate it. Probably wasn't the best delivery device because of the yeast but at least I got it in her. I was kind of worried about trying to squirt it in her throat cuz I'm paranoid about prying open her mouth and trying not to drown her. I stuck her in the cage and she seemed to be okay with it. I did not give her any water tonight because it was just going to freeze anyway and it was getting dark so she was going to be going to bed soon. I figure I'll head out tomorrow morning and take her some water and massage her crop again and give her some more medicine. She was up and moving around and willing to eat so she must be feeling somewhat better. But until those other ones will leave her comb alone I'm going to have to keep her locked up. I'm hoping the warmer weather than next few days we'll get rid of their attitudes.
Somehow I must have missed the comb picture if you posted one. How bad is it? Is is a tear or a chunk hanging loose?
If it’s something that’s really flapping around, you may be better off dubbing it of very fast with clean sharp scissors and be done with it.
It might take a lot less time to heal.
Dolly’s comb took weeks to heal and it wasn’t in miserable weather. Now it hangs awkwardly. I should have just taken that whole piece off.

:frowGood morning peeps.
Up with cooper and Sam so DH can sleep in.
Sam has already knocked over my coffee:mad: :smack, then just as I was finishing cleaning that up cooper puked up last nights dinner on the rug with zero warning. Missed the floor by two inches. :sick
Why do dogs HAVE to throw up on the carpet?!?:he:barnie

Good morning @staceyj. Puke and coffee cleanup before 7am sounds like SOOO much fun. I think they puke on the carpet so it doesn't run to their feet like it would on tile or vinyl.

Not so carp night last night, but still didn't get as much sleep as I wanted to. Thing 1 has a nagging cough now and kept waking himself up. I would give him medicine and have him lay back down in his bed. Since he doesn't have a fever (YAY!) I wasn't concerned enough to want to deal with a wiggle boy in our bed. He woke up at 5:30am and didn't want to go back to sleep. So I'm up as well. I already checked in at work, but something broke and I need to wait for someone in the central timezone to get back to me. So much for getting an early start.

Darn it! I hope you get a nap later today Rae.

Send me a pic when you have a chance. Maybe not for long.
Remember Dolly kept scratching out her stitches.
Glue wouldn’t hold.
For two weeks, every time she scratched or shook her head whatever small scab had started to form would bust loose and the bleeding would begin again.
It was a very unnecessarily p r o l o n g e d and frustrating experience.

And depending on where it is I don’t mean you’d have to dub the whole thing! Just the part that’s causing the trouble.

Have you tried packing the bleedy area with flour?

I am sure these are meant for @apryl29 .

No comb issues here. ;)

So this happened. I went to check on them and collect eggs and noticed that my white birds had blood on them. Klaus was the victim. Not sure what happened, but the back of her comb appears to be detached and she had several spots on her comb that look scratched. I sneaked her into my apartment and cleaned her up. Driving w/ a chicken wrapped in a towel on your lap isn't as hard as I expected. She sat still the whole time. I cleaned w/ w water and vetericyn spray. Washed away as much blood as I could. Then I ended up putting blukote on it. I though about using super glue, but I was worried that I might get some of her feathers stuck inside. I'm going to go over tomorrow morning and check on her. Hopefully they leave her alone.

The heat lamp brought the temp up to 15 from a -2 so that's helping.
And when I first got to the coop there was 4 eggs, then I had to deal with the chicken emergency and when I got back there was only 3 eggs. The nest was wet so someone ate one of the eggs. I dropped one into the poop bucket and it cracked and 1 was split from the cold so only one egg made it.
So today was a super fun & eventful day.. can't wait for tomorrow!
I'm going to get up early & go check them before work to make sure Klaus is ok. I really wish I could have kept her here for the night to keep an eye on her. She was so good and calm on the drive to the coop. She even stuck her head out of the towel and was watching out the window.

@staceyj

Here's the post with pics for Apryl's birdie.
