Official Squatch Watchers

I kinda wonder if she might have been molting and that's why she looks disheveled. I know they're *supposed* to do it in the fall, but I've got 3 who are super late to the party and are SLOOOOOWWWLLLLYYYYY molting still. I think the warmer temps in the basement did Klaus some good b/c she finished her molt up before she got put back in the coop.

I noticed a tick on Tubbs the other day... haven't seen him since so I didn't get a chance to remove it yet. I was surprised too! It's about as big as a pencil eraser.

A few weeks ago when it was warm I saw a mosquito when I was sitting outside while the birds ranged... I know they need to exist b/c things eat them, but could they not eat me?!

:love:love:love:love:love:love Sooooo much fluffy cuteness!

You're welcome to join in the party. Don't count yourself out for your very own squatch... I've heard stories of people randomly dumping unwanted cockerels/ roosters all over the place. One lady posted that she'd found 4 chickens near the factory where she worked in an industrial park. She caught them all and took them home. They spawn out of nowhere.

Yay!! so there's 2 more to go?
Oh man! I remember that lady! That was an epic thread with the happiest ending.

Was the egg getting darker? Often that is how you tell if the chick is developing in hard to candle eggs
That egg was opaque from day 1, the only time I even saw an air cell was before lockdown so that was a huge maybe egg.:)

My rolls aren’t the best either! ;)
:gig
Your rolls are pretty on par with mine, either really good or totally rotten nooo happy medium lol!:gig

Dr appt for the giant human... I normally wouldn't bother taking her this soon b/c I have a feeling it's just viral, but I want to make sure it's not strep b/c she will be around a lot of people this weekend.
I think that’s a smart idea. Better to be safe than sorry

I wish I could tell you lol! It is still wet but it looks "frosted" dark underneath and yellow on top so when it dries i'll tell you. I do know it has white legs and they're featherd.
@apryl29 We are waiting on one more egg. I tapped it and there is peeping, there was one more but it didn't make it. I did a no-no and opened the bator, it pipped but something wasn't right there was alot of loose yolk and it had passed, there was a big yellow spot under it and I knew that wasn't right.:(
Would the yolk issue really be from opening the bator? It sounds more like it got punctured or something. Either way.. I wouldn't blame yourself. These things happen. It's one less boy for your flock though.
