This is a house of a million doors and they all have fancy decorative easy to open flipper handles because the previous owners had a kid in a wheelchair.
The dog and cat have both mastered opening them.
The dog even figured out how to push the handle DOWN and pull the door TOWARDS himself to let himself out.

As in OUT out.
Like BYE!:frow
SEE YA!
I’m going to leave and get lost now!

So DH had to replace them a few weeks ago with traditional turn-y type doorknobs on the doors that lead out to the “WORLD”. So apparently we only need 15 more. :barnie:he:th
Easy access for the animals too!

Maybe start with the one that lets the cat into the attic?

Morning!

Night time chick drama how iv'e missed you.
A baby derp was pooped on while I slept. I woke up to a screaming baby terrified of this "thing" stuck to it.
4:34 A.M , and i'm saving a baby derp from a turd.:jumpy
:lau:gig:lau:gig

DH and I were awakened by a crying Thing 1 around the same time. DH actually woke up first, consoled him and laid him back down. I was pretty deeply asleep. Fortunately, he settled down quickly.

 I laughed way to hard at this!

We lost a cat in a window. It was open and she climbed in knocking the prop stick out. It shut and held her between the screen and the glass. It didn’t take us long to find her but such an odd way to get stuck.

:oops:I’m going to hell. I’m still laughing. “Meow...thud.”

It IS funny now.
Yes it really was MEOW...thud.
My mom was NOT good with animals.

We ended up with over a foot of snow.
It is just 15° this morning. My little ones have the heat on in the coop.
:fl
My garden was partially planted. The radish were up as were some of the peas and lettuce.
Maybe ok maybe not. :hmm

My tomato starts are getting BIG.

Chicky, You are a good chick/derp caregiver. That poor poopy baby. :hugs

Ok so Miss May......Last night at close up....she growled at me. :hmm
Maybe she isn't sick. Maybe she is the weirdest broody I have ever seen. Not sure...the jury is out on that So I am still going to handle it like she is sick.

Hey! Must have been a good day for it. Cooper puked at 3:30 am.
By the time I got it cleaned up DH couldn’t go back to sleep and turned on the bedroom tv. Then he went to sleep and I couldn’t.

Then later in the morning I was sitting on the back porch with cooper watching chicken tv and I kept hearing creaking sounds over my head in the ceiling part of the porch (not an enclosed porch).

Hmmmm I thought, I hope I don’t have a dang squirrel up there!

So I said cooper what’s up there buddy?!?

And he barked.

And his bark was replied to with a meow !

“Oh CARP!” I yelled.
(Not exact translation)

But by gawd it sounded like SAM!

I RAN upstairs (never go up there) and in the hallway is a big closet.
AND THE DOOR WAS OPEN. It’s always closed.
And in the back of that closet is another big closet.
THAT DOOR WAS OPEN. And that’s always closed too.
And in the back of THAT CLOSET is three steps and the door to the attic. AND THAT DOOR WAS OPEN TOO! And is always closed AND LOCKED.

And that attic is huge and only has a plywood floor over part of it.

And out beyond where the lightbulb casts light and the floor ends is a partial wall with just a small opening in it and beyond that is who the hellllllll knows because the flashlight didn’t even light it up. It was like a black hole.
But apparently THAT is either over or leads to the area over the back porch.
AND THATS WHERE SAM WAS!
And I couldn’t get to him.
and he was having a GRAND time.
And it took me HALF THE DAY TO ENTICE HIM with all the kitty treats in my arsenal to trick him into coming out and getting close enough to me to brace my hip agains this slanted board and lean out and GRAB HIS ARSSS and haul him downstairs.

So HE spent the afternoon in the downstairs bathroom thinking about his behavior.
(With food water and litter box)

When DH came home I had him go up there and fix the slide lock on the door which the previous owners had installed upside down for some reason.

I swear. ALL the door knobs in this house have GOT to GO.

Remember last week when I felt sorry for the cat for being in the cone of shame for so long?

Dang. He was so good. 21 days.
I miss those days already.
:gig:hit
