So, my parents decided to let the guineas loose today in hopes that they would free range and eat ticks. They did fine for most of the afternoon, but about an hour before sundown they found the chicken paddock and one of the cocks got in with the chickens and started harassing my hens again. We chased him out and tried chasing them back to the winter coop, but they weren't having it and ran up into the woods. The last place we saw them was up in the treeline. The chickens have been shut in for the night so the guineas won't be able to harass them and we left the garden and the winter coop open for them. Hopefully, they learn to fend for themselves in the woods and eat the ticks or find their way back to the winter coop.

Trying to get the base ready for the tiny greenhouse today.

I have dug so many clumps of runner grass out OMG!

I was thinking about putting pavers inside the greenhouse BUT that ground is fighting me on leveling it.
A base of pea gravel would allow drainage and still soak up heat.....but would allow weeds to come up. :hmm

I found this video. I like his shelves adding strength. I plan to do something similar.

Can you out down weed cloth before you put down the pea gravel?

We had weed cloth in a flower bed......once. :hmm
That runner grass comes right through everything. Yes including the high dollar stuff.

The harness.....yeah....that front clip.....It just spins the harness around the dog. I even tried running the leash between her front legs. To easy for her to step over and then we are back to doing the twist.
The harness IS easier to put on her but that is about it. :(

Rene is broody right beside Tucks who is also broody. Broody Rene scares me, she's a flogger even with those stumpy little legs she's a freakin flogger.
She's also an instigator, watched her flog a crow let out this crazy wild woman screech which made Negan come to also try to flog the crow.
My midget got REAL.:hmm

Now THAT is funny! :lau

I love that craaaaazzzyyy chicken!

Darn. I’m sorry.
The only one my friend “kinda-sorta likes” is called a balance harness.

So far though everything she’s tried has twisted some.

I definitely expect some twist but the front clip twist was extreme.
We are 3 walks in with the new harness. By now I would have expected some result. :hmm

All that said......I have better results with a combo leash. One that has a second loop down closer to the dog.
These girls are short though so using it is putting them in the trip zone.

My shepherd mix was tall like my boys. Her traffic lead was a loop with a clip. It worked very well with the tall dogs. I may look for an 8' lead and loop it back to make a more properly placed loop for the girls. Que the sewing machine.

Sables lead has one built into the lead but again it is to close to her body to use effectively.
