You can raise layers with meat birds, but it really isn't recommended because of the size difference and the fact that the CX are greedy pigs. If you want to raise them together, it is better for the layers to be older.

I'm with you on this one, but some folks set their plan and run with it. He's also feeding them starter, which is too high in protein for CX, but I told him what to watch for and to weigh them frequently and how to tell it's time to process. I really doubt that they'll make it to 8 weeks.
