New Castle kept popping up when I would Google Henrietta’s symptoms. But so did a lot of other stuff!

Hubby said I might just be a crazy chicken lady if I take Henni on my trip and we would get kicked out of the hotel. Naw, I will just put a do not disturb sign up.
He also said I should let her run free to see if a hawk really would get the chickens :thHe doesn’t remember me telling him of the near successful attack while I was working outside by them.

Is there any kind of compensation if your flock is taken out?
That sounds awful to ask but I have some expensive birds. Yes they are my pets and not my livelihood but for some people they are. I couldn't afford to buy an entire new flock. Especially if I was a breeder working towards SOP or some rare breed.

It would be even more devastating if they just culled everyone and left you with nothing.

Well, Chad 5, Gurtrude. 1, Gurtrude wins. Chad is now in bandages after harassing Gurtrude one time to many. He has a nice gash opened up in the skin that covers his air bladder for making loud, obnoxious cooing noises. So after catching him, stopping the majority of the bleeding and patching him up with Neosporin, gauze and vet wrap, he is in a smaller cage in DD#s 3 & 4s room until he heals. We'll have our normal vet take a look at him tomorrow and see if he needs stitches or not. All things considered, he came out better off than I thought he would.

I'll update later when I take him to the vet.
