Eh, at this point, I don't have breeding pens set up and I don't want to brood chicks at the moment. So, if I want to get back into hatching eggs, I think setting all the guinea eggs I can find and selling them off as quickly as possible will be the best way to scratch the itch. At this point, I don't think I'm going to be hatching any chickens until after baby comes.
Of course!

I just like that smiley I 6 is all you want to set, then set all of them!

Seriously?! I need to go check that out. Reminds me of the duck w/ the foot growing from it's head. My cousin sent me a pic the other day of a hairless cat that didn't have any eyes. I couldn't tell if it never had eyes, or if something happened and they had to be removed, but it def had eye sockets. It was very evil looking.

That is why I do not like poultry shows. I'd considered letting the girls do 4H & enter their chickens in the fair, but then I realized the risk and that was the end of that.

That poor bird! Great rescue job! Once I was house sitting and heard something going on down in the basement. I went down to let the dog go out and found that the cat had brought in a live grackle. I eventually got it out, but it was like a scene from a movie w/ how ridiculous it got before I got a hold of it, cat watching the whole time like Hey! That's my dinner, back off! but at least there were no witnesses.

That's even worse. I hope someone puts a shoe in their backsides. Seriously, that should be prosecuted.

BYC is an amazing resource. I think most people end up here b/c of google.

I am so stupid! I just remember there's a chicken symptom checker website! I'm so sorry I didn't think of it before. I hope it helps!

And is there a 'don't have chickens again' period or some procedures you should follow to make sure you're not bringing in new birds just to expose them too.

I'd suggest Craigslist if nothing else works. You could try putting an add in the newspaper too. Hopefully you can find him a good home.

Poor little guy. Hopefully he's learned his lesson.

Wow, he's beautiful!
Personally I'd like to see something more than just a boot..lol, but animal cruelty charges for each and every chicken that has to be killed over it would work for me, along with reimbursement for them to the owners of the chickens.

That would be nice. Hopefully something does happen to them, at least more than a slap on the wrist or a talking to. It's unacceptable.

Yeah I totally starved those poor babies, like a day and a half of food that was just O.K to them.
I'm shocked they survived.:p

OMG!!!! You gave them the "not favorite" food for like 36 hours???? You monster!

My babies inner Leghorn is showing today.
My son has yet to even see them. He went to take a look and they ran inside their house.
Ain't seeing them that way. :gig

Lol! Sounds like hubs, the only way he sees any chickens is if he sneaks up on them and these couple weeks inside.
Freaky mostly every chicken out there sans Susan, Marlene and Hobo have seen him pretty much since day 1 and they still avoid him.:gig

It is just as well he does not see them. He has a tendency to give them silly names.

He is the one who named Grandma after all.

Yes we had a chicken named Grandma.:rolleyes:

I have house guests. LOL
