Nunny You'll like this... I have a solar charged battery back up for my internet. When My power went out during incubation. I ran a 50' power cord up to the backup. Thankfully power was restore before battery life was exhausted. But then again, who needs internet or phone when there are chicks involved?

I need to get a generator for just these reasons, incubators and work.

I think you've done the best you can and it is time to get your life back. You can't spend the next couple years force feeding a chicken.
 
@Sassysouth I'd give it a try, if she eats, good, if not, well, you're giving it your best try. The both of you can't stay in limbo forever.

Chad update, dumb tater got fixed up and will not be flying or making loud noises for a couple weeks. Once healed, he gets a bath to clean all the dried blood and stuff off. All things considered, he got off lucky, and we're only out $112. New rule, Chad doesn't get out when chickens are out, cuz you know the sky rat will try to go another round with them.

Poor stupid bird. I don’t think I’ve ever heard a pigeon keeper refer to their bird as a sky rat. :)

I’m glad your wallet came out heavier than you were anticipating.
