Henny, did you starve the chickens for plants?
And oh yes, Tyrone you ARE the father! Screee! Sreeeee! then this percolating sound, its the sound of worry and more Screeeeee!
Certainly livens things up. :D
Pretty bad if you can hear it over Maury. :th

I had a tiny taste of that yesterday evening. It sprinkled for about ten minutes. Not enough to water ANYTHING but enough to cause panic.
:gig I cannot imagine hearing more than 2 in freak out mode. :lau

I got the bed next to be he hoop run weeded, tilled, amended, and planted with wildflowers. I hope they sprout! That area is a real pita.
It should bloom pretty if they take.

I went for chicken feed.....came home with plants. :hmm
WELL they were clearanced down to a buck from five.
:bun

Lol.....no. I brought home 100# of all flock.

I also gave them all some Swiss chard and chopped grass today.

Poor little Dot is about half the size of Dip. :hmm

Well the 3 splay legged keets and breech keet have been moved the the brooder. The hobbled splay legged keets seem much more agile than hobbled chicks. So they are hopping around the brooder almost as well as the other keets. I’ll probably take the hobbles off in the next day or so. Breech keet is doing a good deal better and is FIESTY. When I was moving them downstairs to the brooder breech keet kept biting me. It still often flops on its side and starts kicking but is able to walk after resting a bit. I think it might have lost a little too much blood and has been weak. Time to start advertising on FB!

Well good! It is easy to get caught up in sale plants and starve what you went to feed.
I know this for a fact lol!
Neat, you're going to have a midget and a big mama! :p

Yeah she is dinky....or the other is giant.

I took some branches to the recycle center too.....and scored plywood! I got 2 pieces roughly 3'x3' and one 5'6" x15"!
:yesss: That should work to make external nest boxes for the cochin house. (Combined with some existing wood for the frame.)
It is hard seeing my giants in the small nests.

Ron did your Trader Joe chicks resemble any particular breed ? I KNOW there is a T.J's hatching thread on BYC, I read it myself., and told my chicken lady person. She wanted to get ONE fertile egg and incubate it on a heating pad. No use trying to explain things to her.
Here they are hyline commercial layers and look like leghorns. I posted a picture of one of them-- she has the big floppy comb and shape of a leghorn. They lay a lot of eggs too!

Make sure you mention how good they are at tick control!

Free plywood? And more than a scrap too holy crap! The only thing decent at ours is mystery paint.
Funny you got assorted sized derps. None of the ones here are the same size, Beavis still looks like a pullet, Rene is a midge, Lulu is flippin massive, and Tucks is a cheese wedge.
Barb,Kim and Stacey are almost the same but they're still teeny tiny.
Can't wait for the outcome on those, there is signifigant wild woman in all of them.:D
