I'm dabbling with becoming a breeder.

Snuggling is fine. I'm way past an intervention! LOL

So I found out how much another chicken breeder in my area makes breeding. I was shocked. And not to sound rude or judgy but I think I could do better.

So the lady I was helping had death layers and I fell in love with their look. The opportunity to get these chicks sort of fell in my lap and so I took it as a sign to go for it. Then another lady has some barnavelder that are bred from Greenfire stock. She needs to downsize and "you'll give them such a good home. You can have them." How do I say no to that!?!

No one here could refuse such an offer. But, I will have to settle for shipped chicks from those who can keep a cockerel. And, long distance photos of cute hatchlings, of course! Having bred parrots, it was for the birds as far as making money. I would have had to sell my babies for far more than I did to make any money at it!

I got 2 blood transfusions and I’m feeling a lot better. They want to give me IV iron as well, but I’m not so sure about that.

Did you lose a lot of blood during the delivery?

No more than usual, but I was already at a 7.6 hemoglobin (normal minimum is 11) when I checked in the hospital and was down to 5.6 this morning.

Has he passed his first test yet?

The hearing one.
