ok Tilly update....

She does indeed have aspiration pneumonia.

The antibiotic she was already on is the most commonly prescribed for it....interestingly it is not effective in 60% of the cases.

She has 2 new meds and stopping that one med. Physical therapy done at home to loosen the fluid and a recheck in 2 weeks.

Her bloodwork shows she is fighting infection but also recovering from the bloodloss.
That means numbers are still off but more normal than Thursdays check.

Today's bill was $450. That is with the vet waiving the exam fee.

:th
I hope the new meds work. I wonder if she's still feeling sore from puking so much. It was nice of them to waive the exam fee, but holy wow, that's still sooo much $$.

O.k, I at least have a picture of the coop which is great because that means it exsists.
It needs help but it looks like it would make a good broody/sick/naughty coop once it gets some tlc.
Free is free and iv'e got a ton of "stuff" to rehab with.:woot

Yeah it sucks. Her guts are ripped up front to back from that rock. Then the antibiotics cause stomach issues. :hmm

I am giving 3 teaspoons of raw honey a day spread out. I am syringe feeding chicken broth, Pedialyte and water into her mouth carefully so she does not choke on that.
I got 2 pieces of bacon and 1/4 of an egg in her this morning. At this point anything is better than nothing.
:fl That it makes her feel like drinking.

The honey certainly has helped with energy.
The humidifier was making the breathing much worse so is now off.

She will live or die at this point. I am giving the meds on schedule and doing what I can. Some of this is up to her though.

I do have a friend that is willing to do sub-q fluids and help tube feed if we hit that point.

The pricey antibiotic I can get from chewy almost 40% less with a script of course. She will need 42 more tablets for the minimum duration of treatment.

She is alert and reasonably mobile so .

Water is critical.

Great free coop Chicky!

Good job working on the bantam run Cappy!

Pretty bird whether male or female Anansi!

I am around just worried and quiet.

At least she's eating something. She's still fighting. I hope she starts feeling better now that she's got a different medication.

Good morning folks :frow

Welcome fellow bitty buzzard rancher! :D
I have a rooster named Squatch :gig

Henny, have you considered giving her CBD?
It wouldn't get her high or anything but it would releive the inflammation, boost her appitite and help with discomfort.
Living where you do it should be damn near everywhere too.
