That's one thing I don't like about winter is that it gets so dark so early. Usually the sun starts going down here around 4:30 and at 5:00 it's pitch black. It makes me want to go to bed early!
I know! Soon it will be dark in the morning and the evening for me here. I leave for work at 7:30 and head home at 4:40. I only see the hens on the weekends then

I think my husband sees the chickens at 4:30 a.m. everyday when he lets them out because the roosters go out there and start crowing. He comes home around 4:30 pm and usually the ducks are still outside.

The chicks that we have outside think they can party all night long because they have a heat lamp.

@21hens-incharge what breed of dog do you have?

There are 5 dogs here now.

Oldest to youngest.....
Jack, a weimaraner wire haired pointer mix
Sable, a pitsky
Delilah, a Malamute
Tilly, a black and tan coon hound airedale mix
River, a bloodhound

Coming this Spring will be Alooah another Malamute.

Yup she is already named.

I want a bloodhound so bad!!! They are gorgeous

:gigI think I want a Great Pyrenees next... Our biggest dog is a pitbull lab mix. She's 70 lb, but I think that's small.

Jack is our biggest right now. He is 105# and 11 years old.

I like the "wash and wear" kind of dogs. No brushing, trimming, hand stripping for this old lady.
