I lay eggs too :plbb

I found these last night, they weren't there yesterday and I doubt Lizbeth produced both of them. I checked vents and Luci has characteristics of both Lizbeth and Tinsley. :hmm
Congrats! A secret pullet is way better than a secret cockerel.

Good morning! Oh man, it is so much worse dirtwise now that the sun is up.
Im grateful but still a little miffed because I thought we had a mutual understanding it was too wet to move the thing....guess not huh?
He just lives across the road, no reason he couldn't have plopped it down over there and waited a little bit.
He's older too so he knows better.
But like I mentioned the dog died and im not about to fuss at anybody when their dog just died.
I jumped the ruts in the yard and took a look inside the little coop.
I don't see anything too terrible going on, the wire needs upgrading big time so do the latches.
Im going to have to set it on some cinderblocks at least too the floor is not ground freindly.
The real kicker is it still isn't anywhere near where I wanted it to be lol.
So far the dirt/derp chaos is beyond lopsided.
Dutch, Hobo and Ethel are up to their elbows in it but eveybody else seems to think it is sketchy.
Took some pics, ill get better ones once the sog fog clears out. :)
Oh the last pic is the backside of the front door, the whole front opens which is nice but im not seeing how the pop door gets secured?
Heck the whole front just has a flip latch, a wonk bent flip latch at that.View attachment 2036038View attachment 2036039View attachment 2036040View attachment 2036041
Yay for the surprise coop. It looks pretty nice.. but I'd be bleaching the carp out of that. How long ago was it occupied by poultry? I'd probably treat it for mites too.

Im sure trying to lol! :)

I did see the one you did Cappy, if this one turns out even close to that ill be happy and shocked.;)

Ok, without the sog fog. I found how the pop door secures, another crappy flip latch.
There is a crack in the shingles so it leaks on the egg door, the flip down door underneath only latches on one side and has a rubber seal inside so there is some weird stuff going on.
I can say there is no poop in it but the 50 million jumping spiders even that out.
The herd decided it was ok to check out since I wasn't getting eaten.

Those aren't ruts. He legit turfed your lawn.

So, im thinking about putting that coop on wheels.
I can't think of a reason not to.:)
Good idea, it'll help your move it where you want it and get it off the ground.

Ok, the two eggs from a couple days ago. Lizbeth's has meatspots and the yolk, plus looks like it may have been fertilized. Luci's had meatspots, and everything but the yolk. The pic was taken right before they went down Peach's hatch.

Whoa. I guess it's not bad fora first timer, it was a pretty tiny egg. I always get meat spots in the first few eggs of the season. I thought it only happened when a pullet started to lay, but my recent restarters had them too.

I got my first brown egg since last fall yesterday! It's either from Loki or Nibbler b/c they're my only brown layers left. I think it's Loki's though b/c she has the bright red comb & Nibbler's is still kinda pink. It's like easter every day! I'm got about 6 eggs since Sunday so I'm happy that they are still functional chickens. I'm worried about Nibbler since she's my last production bird & today is her 2 years gotcha day. She seems to be doing ok so far, so fingers crossed that she doesn't end up like the other 3.

:fl That she keeps going strong.

I have a couple BSL (age 4+) and have had California Whites (7+ years) that have made it past 4 with no issues. It can happen....the no issues and production breeds thing.
