Pretty smoky again here. Looks like we are getting smoke from the Cameron Peak fire as well as California fires looping around and coming in. It is surreal seeing actual ash falling. I cannot imagine how bad it is living closer to the fires.
The sky is like a weird perpetual dusk/sunset color.

The Cameron Peak fire is the closest one to us but still far enough away it won't hit us. The ash is getting carried high in the atmosphere before making it over us.
That smoke from California has to go up the west coast before circling back down to us. It is crazy how far it travels.

I expect it will be like a camping trip for at least another 2 months. We have seen this in years past too. The worst for ash was Mt. St. Helens. I recall 1/4-1/2 inch of ash on the cars.
When we start getting snow the air will clear.

How scary! Glad to hear it's far enough away from you that you don't need to worry too much. Does it bother the animals much? I can't imagine it's good for you to breathe much.
