Official Squatch Watchers

Good morning folks! (what's left of it anyway).

We separated out the birds that are ready for slaughter. We have 46 that we can do. 5 are old hens, 10 are barnyard mixes/New Hampshires and 31 of them are Cornish. I think we'll probably do the Cornish Roosters first and see where we end up.

Id love to find a permanently warm place myself, my arthritis and cold don't play nice together.
I think Saudi Arabia might be a little out there though, maybe Thailand dodge a typhoon or two. ;)
We have frost on everything as well 🥶 it seems I get to live in cold places no matter how hard I try otherwise 🙄. Florida and Saudi Arabia are the only warm places I can recall and Florida's not always warm.

Good morning Rae 🙂 have a great Monday and processing day is always a fun day.

We looked for a very long time to find someplace that we would both like to live, but needless to say, we didn't find it 🙄. Tennessee isn't bad and it does have all the seasons, just sometimes all in one day.
I wouldn't recommend Saudi Arabia for anyone I know, its hot all day and it gets cold at night.

I'm kinda dreading it. I usually do, but moreso this time. But looking forward to getting as many mouths off my feed bill as possible.

Understand, its not a favorite activity of mine either, but I used to just do quality control. I don't like to hold the birds as they die, but now that it's just the two of us 🤷 I help with the beginning and end, I won't do the chopping of heads and stuff 😩
I get the feed bill part, it's not cheap.

Good afternoon everyone :frow

I got a "freebie" today. Our network was knocked out due to yesterday's storm so I'm at home working. "Working" is relative when at home. I had to move into my crap(craft) room so I can use the laptop while it's plugged in and prop my feet up on the yoga ball so the cats can still cling on to me for dear life while I attempt to actually try and use said laptop. :lau:lau
It does feel nice to type on a regular keyboard and see the letters show up in real time. Almost never happens on the ipad :( it's too slow :(

My problem is I'm the main eviscerator. My mom can eviscerate too, but my DH and FIL won't do the throat slitting (we use a cone) and aren't detailed oriented enough to mind the scalding pot. So my mom supervises those things while doing feather clean up and taking off the feet and necks for me.

Good afternoon Fishy 🙂 have a great rest of your day!

I don't do the actual killing, I just hold onto them so they don't slide out of the cone. We have a scalder and plucker, so we do watch each thing and it takes longer now. Our son used to do the killing and chopping parts, now DH has to do it.

Im rebuilding my snack hoard, kit kat put out apple pie and birthday cake flavors for the holiday season so I bought a box of each...48 kit kat bars yep.
I got some lime/pineapple nerds 24 in the case and 5lbs of albanese 12 flavor gummi bears.
Im rolling out of the house come spring.
I tried to redo the roosts for the non roosters today, they hate it of course so i'll tweak it tomorrow.
It is hard to do anything really with so many birds up my butt, im bad to drop stuff really accident prone and im scared to death of squishing somebody.
I took a break on the back steps, 2 seconds im covered in derps lol!
Homer is a grooming machine btw, my eyebrows are spotless.
