Official Squatch Watchers

Yup. Should definitely have gone the regular route with 2x4’s and building from scratch. Pallets have turned into an expensive nightmare. 🤣🤣🤣.
And my run should have just been cattle panels, too 🤷🏻‍♀️ Cheaper and easier to cover in bad weather.
Blech. Live and learn.
It’s not really that bad, per se, it’s mainly the stress.
We’ve taken off the roof panels and left the hardware cloth in case of predators. We need to grab lumber as most of what we have is furring strips which I dont trust in a wind storm. We’ll drape a tarp over it tonight at the same angle we’re building cuz its gonna rain maybe. Kiddo really needs to get his licenses! It takes about two hours out of our day to get him to work, somehow.
Thank you so much! You’ve been nothing but helpful 🥰🥰🥰

Exceptionally dumb.

No vacation available unfortunately. I will be headed to the store to get clorox, hand sanitizer, lysol spray and wipes and pine sol.
Maybe if hubs makes it smell like a hospital in the office he will go home.

With Kev having recently had major surgery and everything else I want to go smack that old arse around and yell in his face.
Not a bad idea. Maybe include tyvek paint suits and face shields as well. It’ll smell like a hospital and everybody will be in full on anti-cootie gear 😹😹. If that doesnt send a message I dont know what will. Is Kev your son or another employee?

Pallets and I have a love hate relationship.

Did you see in the coop page link how they did the vents on the sides?(triangles)

I thought it was rather clever.

I LOVE the anti-cootie suit idea! :lau Throw in a Storm Trooper helmet and it's PERFECT!

Kev is a co-worker. I think he is around 50 years old.

I’m getting there for sure 😂

I did! I love it! It’s going to take some dusting off of brain cells to make that happen, but I guess the girls dont care if it doesnt look as pretty as the article’s.
Oh. I bought myself a Dremel for Christmas 🤣🤣🤣. It even has a spot on the case for a name :lau :lau And a lock!

Mini rant. :rant

Hubs bosses grown granddaughter has tested positive for covid.
Hubs boss is planning to take a trip this Thursday through Sunday several states away via his motor home. She is going with.

Place many curse words here....

Why on earth would 2 people in their mid 70's think this is a good idea?!?
Then there is the coming back into the office Monday and sharing a potentially deadly virus with PEOPLE WHO ARE HIGH RISK!

Kev is coming back to work after open heart surgery and is diabetic, hubs has diabetes and I am certain there are potential issues for at risk customers too.

:barnie
I would call the health department. I find it scary that people turn on each other and will call for minor infractions but this is a major offense. Some states are automatically having you quarantine if you leave for more than 24 hours.
The other option is band together and say if he shows up to the office upon his return no one else will be there for 2 weeks.
I’m not in hiding from the virus. But I’m aware it really scares some people, and it should. Why purposely put someone at risk?
I clean for a self described little old lady. I started after she lost her husband to influenza a. She’s scared of covid and I don’t blame her. So I always wear a mask around her and keep her up to date on where I’ve been. I had to make a yearly dr appointment so made sure to go to her house before I had gone to the office. Gives her peace of mind and such a simple thing to do.

For the triangle.....Use newspaper, wax paper, cardboard or such and tape it to the coop wall. If you measure down X inches and in X inches from the vertical you can get a decent pattern. While jig saws and I have a hate hate relationship this is what they are made for. I actually prefer a plunge cut with my circular saw but that is not THE safest thing. Hide crooked edges with trim. ;)

While masks are uncomfortable to wear all day in hubs case I told him he better.

I am not being a freak about it all but deliberately ignoring it seems rather less than smart.
The precautions are simple really. For his boss who is elderly and employs people who have health concerns to put them at risk should be criminal. I will remember the health department advice.

Good evening folks!

I've had the last two days off and it has been quite nice. My midwife was supposed to come here for an appointment today but another one of her patients went into labor. I haven't been feeling that great. I think it is a combination of growing boy on the inside stretching ans squishing everything and two active boys on the outside routinely hitting my belly and making things quite irritable (my temper and my uterus).

We have something like that happening with us too. My brother recently moved in with my parents because he got a job doing solar installations out here. As all of you probably know, my mother helps out a lot with the boys. Well, my brother goes back to work yesterday and finds out that his boss has been exposed to the virus over the holidays and he was told to quarantine for 2 weeks. However, they are finishing up one job now and will be starting another next week and the boss is confident he won't catch it. We aren't too concerned because we think we got it back in Dec-Jan last year. ALL the adults in the family got REALLY sick with something that knocked us on our butts for weeks/a month. The boys were low for maybe a day or two but rebounded quickly. BUT, it is still of some concern because we've never been tested for antibodies (don't want to be on a government list) and I'm pregnant. We also go to a small church in person and there are a few older women in the church that are extremely vulnerable. We COULD quarantine ourselves from my parents but it would be a nightmare. So, we are monitoring the situation for now, since we are at a 3rd level exposure. Still something to worry about.

:hugs Take care of yourself :). Do they at least all wear masks to help limit exposure?
