Oh thanks for the warning! I might hold off on the turkeys from there then and maybe wait for tractor supply. I am still new to know what to look for, so I will try to look for that line. =)be very careful of turkeys there, I have bought there myself with descent luck. when we had our pulorum tests mike told us that it runs very high in turkeys. the last thing you want to do is get that in your flock.
on the marans there is a guy who sells from the bev davis line. im not sure if he is there this time. I have gotten a few from him and they are excellent birds. it just seems every maran I get is an egg eater. constantly trimming beaks.
I was there this morning (more chickens woo! And a defective duckling..lol) and goats galore! Almost got another little doe myself but decided there wasn't room in the car. Crowd wasn't bad at all in the morning either. Started picking up as I left at 10.
Even gets to come in the house on extremely hot days lol! She's not hard to raise at all. Besides going out of the way to buy goat feed, you'd hardly realize she's there. We got her as a 4 month old, and she's only about a year now. It may be different when you get into multiples, though. Maybe someone else with pygmies can chime in.
