Thanks for the welcome!

We got our chickens at Atwoods in April. Sadly, we ended up with one hen and 3 roosters!!

One rooster is a black Cochin. One rooster appears to be an Old English Game Chicken, and I believe our hen is one too. The other rooster, I have no idea. He's orangish-yellow. I believe he is clean legged. He doesn't have long tail feathers at all. He's nice and full like the cochin, but doesn't have long feathers like the cochin.

My roosters are mean and I want to get rid of them. My son doesn't want them to be killed because they were his pets, but he did agree to take them to the auction (money will do it every time with him). But, that will leave me with only one hen, so I really have to find some more hens before I can sell them. ANYONE CLOSE??? to Wayne that has some bantie hens I might could buy? AND, would anyone want my roosters?

GUINEAS question.. My guineas just run and I close them into a large wire dog crate at night to keep them from getting eaten. I want to be able to make a good size chicken run with no top, that has an access hole that can be closed (for safety from predators) so that the guineas can use the same coop as the chickens. Do you think that will work? Or do you think my guineas will kill my bantie chickens?

Also, can you keep banties and full size chickens together OK?

Thanks!!
Jamie

Thanks for sharing the pix Grace.

I just want to say that we are almost to 150 members on our Okie list and have members from Altus to Miami and Broken Bow to Hardesty plus a lot of places in between.
Lets keep the talk going.

NO idea where Wayne is but I still have a few banties I could part with. I have had large and small birds together with no problems...just need room. Guineas get along with others fine. Not sure about the coop hole thing...best of luck. I am way out in the panhandle if that helps you decide on birds. I mainly have old english...but have some Rhode Island red crosses. I have some excess rooster issues but can't seem to help myself! When I see cool ones I just go OK!

Grace I did see you there and I thought you had a yellow name tag on but my eyesight is not good enough to see things like that anymore. I'm afraid that if I would have gotten close enough to read the tag all I would have gotten was smacked!!

Jamie I do happen to have a few extra bantam hens but they are crosses. Naked Neck crossed with Malay. these girls are very good moms and some are feather necked and some are naked necked and a variaty of colors. I am East of Kingfisher but when the weather clears some we can see about meeting some place if you are interested.
