Thanks for the welcome!
We got our chickens at Atwoods in April. Sadly, we ended up with one hen and 3 roosters!!
One rooster is a black Cochin. One rooster appears to be an Old English Game Chicken, and I believe our hen is one too. The other rooster, I have no idea. He's orangish-yellow. I believe he is clean legged. He doesn't have long tail feathers at all. He's nice and full like the cochin, but doesn't have long feathers like the cochin.
My roosters are mean and I want to get rid of them. My son doesn't want them to be killed because they were his pets, but he did agree to take them to the auction (money will do it every time with him). But, that will leave me with only one hen, so I really have to find some more hens before I can sell them. ANYONE CLOSE??? to Wayne that has some bantie hens I might could buy? AND, would anyone want my roosters?
GUINEAS question.. My guineas just run and I close them into a large wire dog crate at night to keep them from getting eaten. I want to be able to make a good size chicken run with no top, that has an access hole that can be closed (for safety from predators) so that the guineas can use the same coop as the chickens. Do you think that will work? Or do you think my guineas will kill my bantie chickens?
Also, can you keep banties and full size chickens together OK?
Thanks!!
Jamie
