Oregon Fall Poultry Swap! 9/25/10 11am **all details on first post!*

I have an update on my have list:

I am once again bringing at least one of my black and birchen Silkie/D'Uccle mix cockerels - 9 months old. He simply will not get with the Castle Rooster program - no crowing during the day

so he has to go. Pet only or for breeding. He is very unique looking and has been highly sought after by a lot of people back east and down in CA. I could have sold him 10xs over by now, I just can't get him there safely. Also a work colleague of my neighbor will be joining us. She has 2-3 laying hens (waiting to hear what breed/age) she is bringing and would like to replace them with Buff Orp hens/pullets.

I think I am going crazy, but I am going to be selling my feather shanked Black copper maran hen(C1 Wade Jean). She is almost 2yrs old and lays the darkest chocolate eggs. What is making me sell her is she is not laying every day....so only on and off, the other one is, she is not colored correctly because instead of the copper on her neck, she is all black. I will be selling her for $15. Let me know if anyone is interested in her.

TSAgirl, I would love to buy your hen BC Marans hen. I will pm you as well.

Bil, I would be happy to pick up eggs for you if someone could get the eggs from Bend to the swap
Also, wall tenters, I would love to buy some of those eggs as well if they all have not been spoken for yet.

BC Marans hen SOLD to Jen!

I still have my Lavender Orp roo(who is such a sweetie) and I am wondering if anyone would be interested in a lavender orp roo and hen? If I sell the pair they will be $60. as you can see I am reducing my flock because we have come into some real trouble with DH getting laid off.

Anyway if nobody is interested I will just keep them, but PM me if you are.

Take care!

Another update- I am making a trip up to Washington in the next 3 weeks to pick up several very nice Silkie cockerels from a breeder up there. If anyone is interested in purchasing a show quality, breeder quality or pet quality Silkie cockerel/ roosters, please let me know. She has splash, blue, lavender splits, maybe some other colors. Some are very young, others are nearly mature.
I will also be bringing a few very nice, SQ or breeder quality Silkie roosters to the swap.

Also, if anyone has birds that they want sent down to the swap from up North, they can contact me and we might be able to work something out for a little toward gas.

Another update for me too: I have neighbors who cannot stop bringing me egg cartons, lol. They collect them from friends, relatives, etc and leave them on my porch. Bless their hearts, they mean well, but my entire pantry is filled with cartons I couldn't possibly fill even if I had 100s of chickens! They are all in good shape - 12 and 18 counts - so I'm going to bring them to the swap in hopes someone else might have use for them. If not, I'll recycle them or advertise them locally. I just thought I'd give my fellow BYCers a chance first
