He will definitely get larger and heavier. You can tell he is young in these pictures.
I can’t wait to see how big he gets!!! He was around 7 lbs at 4 months old. he’s now 5 months and he’s gotten a little bit bigger, filled in some, but I know he still has a long way to go. I’m excited to see just how big he ends up haha

Yeah, I don’t think he’s even crowed yet!!! Haha which is weird because the other boys I had all started crowing up a storm right around 4 months old, especially 2 of them, but not Jack!! One of them was also running around trying to mate all the hens and even had some success at only 4 months old  very confident boy. Meanwhile, Jack is still terrified of the girls. :lau :th he’s definitely huge though!!!

Your boy is so gorgeous. :love
Thank you, he also is a gentle giant. I think he may have grown as tall as he is going to get but he still hasn't filled out in the weight department yet, so I know he still has some growing to do. My Midnight Majesty Marans was crowing at 3 1/2 months and breeding the ladies at 4. My Buckeye and black Jersey Giant followed soon after. My buckeye is the friendliest, he loves to be held, I hold my Orpington on occasion. My other 2 don't like it at all. None of my Rooster are aggressive to people. And they all get along well, I have never seen them drawn blood with each other. They will get into mild tiffs now and again. Here is a picture of my buckeye, I am partial to him because he is my buddy and his feathers shine a rich mahogany in the sun light.

Where did you get your boy? He is also a good looking Roo. I have a hen too, she is pretty big. She is about the same size as my white Jersey Giant hens.

Your boy is still growing!? :th

All your boys sound amazing and that Buckeye is gorgeous too. :love

Next Year I am going to separate my white Jersey Giant hens and my Lavender Orpington hen and breed them to my Lavender Orpington Rooster. They are by far the largest chickens in my flock. I want to see if I can breed even larger birds with the Lavender/Jersey Giant cross.
This year I have 1 hen setting on a nest of mixed breed eggs, they should hatch in a week. I also have 42 eggs in the incubator they should hatch about 8 days later. My flock consists of:
Black and White Jersey Giants, Buff and Lavender Orpingtons, Calico Princess, Dominique, Midnight Majesty Marans, Buckeye, and Easter Eggers.

I got my chickens from Hoover

Thank you!!! I think he is too!! :love

Mine came from Meyer Hatchery. I actually hatched him myself in November haha first ever hatch. Got 8 boys out of 9 chicks though  :th

All various breeds.

Gave away 4 of the boys last month, lost 2 to predators, just had to put my Welsummer cockerel down this week, and still have Jack and his Welsummer girlfriend 😂

I have a bunch of other birds too and they’re all from Meyer but I just got more birds last week from Ideal haha

That sounds like a good plan!!! Bet you will get some huge birds hahah

I really wish one of my hens would go broody!!! But might fire up the incubator haha

And it sounds like you have a really nice flock!!! :love

I have Buff Orpingtons, Black Australorps, Easter Eggers, Speckled Sussex, Delaware, White Leghorn, Partridge Rock, and of course Jack the Lavender Orpington. Oh and the Welsummer too.

Thank you, people say that Orpingtons make the friendliest Roosters, They do make great Roosters but I find my Buckeye is just a little bit friendlier and a better pet than my Orpington.
He is also on the bottom of the hierarchy because of his nature.
