:th Sounds like S.A
Not sure how you cope with Ireland after SA! I spent 2 winters in the UK and the grey nearly killed me. We considered Brittany when we moved back here nearly 4 years ago but decided my Aussie sensibilities were not going to manage with the weather there either! Saying that it rained for 5 months solid here last winter - not nice! Your poor broodies! I'm lucky that my broody coops are in the coolest bit of the garden in deep shade so even when I had 2 going in the heat they were OK - I think I hosed the rooves down a couple of times on the worst afternoons but we were OK!
We named the chick Miracle and of course it turned out to be a rooster :lau
Of course it did :lau

Talk about weather, Ireland is under a snow and ice warning... I better stock up on bread and milk!
OH really - just bloody freezing here! They were predicting sleet if not snow tomorrow and Wednesday but they have taken it off now :hitJust nudging over 4 - we are really pushing the limits for putting concrete in! Just warming up with a coffee before we head to the saw mill to ask about beams.

@PouleChick.
I noticed you reviewed the beak trimming article.
This article might be of interest.

Eek sounds like there is a lot going on in the tip of thier beaks - makes me feel even worse (ifthat is possible) for those poor battery hens who have them chopped off :hit. So are you against even the slight grinding that she is talking about in the article if it is effecting their eating etc?

I'm under 2' of snow rn with another 7in tomorrow.

Fwiw, even though I am American, I can convert to Metric and Centigrade very easily even in my head :p
In fact, my phone is on military time and uses centigrade for the weather app ;)

But in all fairness I never changed it back after living in Germany/France for 4 weeks.

After the brutal heat in S.A. I absolutely love the rain, snow and cold here! I'm a cold weather person, clearly. Just wish the winter days were not so short! Gosh, 04:30pm sunsets?!?!

I'm in touch with friends down in S.A. and they told me things are desperate with the drought hitting parts of the country to the point where farms are at risk of losing everything. I can't grumble about the rain they pray for! Even if it's hard not to some days ;)

I found the grey in England just so depressing when I was there after blue Aussie skies. Weeks on end with no blue & when it did show up it was a thin faded blue. :hmm On the other hand I'm not a fan of our super hot weather just now either...
Yep that is why I live in France :lau I heard it is insanely hot - keep cool where you can - I spent lots of time at the shops in the airconditioning when I lived in Queensland!

Ah well, we live on top of a hill with waterfront & bushland . We usually have a sea breeze so our temps are normally reasonable but any time I have to go anywhere I notice immediately how much hotter it is.
