Rest in Peace 1953-2021
I just try to keep the roosts draft free. I did have to cover a ventilation area bc two of my birds started roosting up there. Think about the adjustable down coat they wear. In cold they fluff they outer feathers increasing the thickness of the down layer for an increased R factor. They seem to do better in cold than extreme heat/humidity. On sunny days above 32° I will even put out the bath water for them. I used to live in CA and I guarantee it will never get too cold for your birds!Do you wrap that loft up with a tarp or anything to keep them warm? We don't get that cold and I'm just beside myself animals live through it. We got to 37 deg last night and I was super worried.

I also feed extra in cold temps.
