Pigeon Talk

Ahh! I watched this! So cute! Do your emus lay eggs yet @Pyxis ? At what age do they?

Not yet :) They can start laying at 18 months, which would be their third spring. Sometimes they don't start until the year after that, though. My guys will be just a year in April. But, I do have more eggs incubating this year that I bought from other breeders :)

@backyard pigeons boomer is the Barred one. Did you see squeak? The one with the white! She was a noise little squeaker! Hence the name!
Nice to see you here @Serin. I used to have an aviary with zebra finches, canaries, lovebirds and budgies. There was quail as well. Unfortunately rats got in and finished off the quail. I had to rehome the rest when we moved. I'd quite like to get a budgy again just to call it smuggles! I have two chickens living in my house at the moment so I don't think the wife would be happy for more!

The green tray has some cracked corn bc I ran out of reg corn and the roads are icy from rain yesterday.

:hit
But I understand. :(
Shadow/Java have been back in and out of the nest. Saw Trip in the other nest this morning and Bonnie too. So I could have 3 sets going at one time real soon. :D
There's nothing as fun as watching them raise babies! I wish I had room for more coop space...or with unlimited funds I could maybe build upward with a second or third story. :gig

Do you wrap that loft up with a tarp or anything to keep them warm? We don't get that cold and I'm just beside myself animals live through it. We got to 37 deg last night and I was super worried.
