Poison Ivy... will it kill my chicks?

We found PI in the backyard... my chickens won't eat it... my hubby went to get it out of the yard and guess what... he is covered in it now... but it gets better... He showered, went to bed not knowing he had it... guess what I had the following morning... yup... right... MAJOR POISON IVY DOWN THE RIGHT SIDE OF MY BODY. You know... I love him like crazy... but if he ever gives me poison ivy again... they will never find the body!

I appreciate everyone's info... and a friend of mine just gave me part of a Fels-Naptha Soap bar... and she said to suds it and leave it on the rash. That is so what I will be doing tonight.
