Wow. Well I have already ordered it so I guess ill have to try it. I will try to get done tylan to keep in stock. What's the shelf life on these drugs? And the temp they need to be stored at?

You'll need to ask the place you got the Baytril from for the expiration date because I don't believe it's on their label. The Tylan, should you choose to get it, will have it printed on the box. You'll want to store both in a cool, dark place in your house, but not in the fridge.

IMHO, you bought the better antibiotic and it should serve you well. I keep several bottles of it even though it's banned, I just don't eat the eggs or meat of anything that's been treated with it.

Hi, I have used (0.5cc) "Tylan 200 " in most severely and even hardened inflammation cases of the peafowl EYES and cured completely 100% of times, only a single shot- did the job. Almost never required a second shot. You may notice increase in swelling (because of the needle wound) the first day and then the swelling starts contracting from day 2 and significantly visible contraction on day 4. Besides, I never noticed reccurence of pluffy eye on these birds again, at least so far.. Regarding Baytril ( Enrofloxyn 10% solution ),I agree entirely with our good friend Yoda, that there is no difference in quality or its efficacy whether you buy Baytril with a prescription or Enrofloxyn without. In case of mycoplasmosis, 5-7 consecutive days treatment and incase of solmonella,E-Coli 7-10days, is recommended.. I got the BEST results in peafowl with respiratory illness, when treated even with Enrofloxyn 10%solution bought without a Prescription.. The first two days I gave 1cc diluted with 1 cc of water (Total 2cc) orally to the very sick (BE CAREFUL NOT TO FEED INTO THE BREATHING HOLE SITUATED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE TONGUE ).At the same time I added 4 cc of Enrofloxyn !0% solution / gallon of water (used a milk container to measure) and soaked whole corn overnight with this solution, and The next day , I added the excess water from corn soaking, to turkey grower 21% protein feed.. I fed the entire group with these two types of feeds for 7 days. I found complete remission from respiratory illnesses in my peafowl this way. I can only share my experiences with you all peafowl lovers. Thanks.

Sorry to hear your bird has a cyst. It looks to me like the cyst might have to be removed. If you have a needle, put it in rubbing alcohol to sterilize it. Now you will catch the bird and hold it's feet together. If you have a friend who can hold the bird by holding the feet together and the other hand under the birds chest and the bird should stay. You will gently hold the head and puncture the sack with the pin. If the puss comes out of the hole then you can gently squeeze it out. If it doesn't then the bird will need to be cut, cut along the underside of the lump. Here is my thread to help you:

I suggest you do read this thread if so you can have an idea of what it entales. I wish I was by you cause I could remove it so easily now that I have done it a few times. The bird will not move. The bird will also not feel the pain. I want you to know this so it is not in your mind at all when you have to cut to remove the cyst. I kept thinking it would but they do not, they just sit there and hardly move. If the bird is an adult, when you are done removing the cyst, give it 2 cc/ml of baytril at the base of neck between the wings. Gently pull the feathers up to left the skin off back and inject just under the skin. Do not stitch or cover the incision let it air dry. The bird should be fine in a few days.

All medication has the experation date listed on the bottles.

The few birds that I have done, I always inserted an 18 guage needle into the sinus to suck the gunk out. I seriously doubt a small needle would work. Even with the larger needle, it was slow going and I could feel a definate suction as I pulled on the plunger (this is why it was slow, pull a little and hold until the suction let off). Unless the sinus has been swollen for a while, chances are good that it hasn't hardened yet. I inject the antibiotic right into the sinus (kind of like pedda, but I go all the way to the sinus, not sub q). All of mine I did just one injection of Tylan 50. 2 days later, you couldn't tell the sinus was ever swollen (pedda's might take a little longer because I sucked the gunk out first). I got my Tylan from TSC.
 
Okay. So I have a question. You think I should go ahead and cut now even tho I don't have any tylan or baytril. Baytril is getting shipped now and will be here this week. Also was wondering if I should cut because the lump you see in the pictures is not hard. It is mushy.
