PUPPIES HERE NOW...C SECTION.....PUPPY PICS..ABBY HOME

How is she acting? is she getting stressed, vomiting, in pain, how is her energy level ?

Dixie pulled through her C-section fine she was able to nurse puppies right away even before she fulling woke up from the drugs- but I dont want to scare you but with a C-section there is the added risk to the pups because they will be born under the same drugs the mom will have so pups kinda look lifeless until they are rubbed and woke up- scared the crap out of us when we saw them all just laying there.
If abby needs a csection her stiches will run down her bellie and you will need to keep them clean and make sure the pups down pull on them while they are nursing and about 10 days or so after she will need to have them checked.
here is a pic of Dixie right after we got her home - she was still alittle out of it for a few hours.

just keep an eye on her - how long as she been pushing without a puppy?

The vet didn't give you any oxytocin (sp)? My dogs will go out of labor and it will bring them back in. I would start getting worried. How long did the vet say wait until you do something if she has not had them? I don't mean to scare you. I'm like mama hen over my puppies.

I don't know what to tell you. I know sometimes it seems like the more we hover over a cow the longer it takes her. But it's not easy to stay away and not check either!! How's the mama acting? If she's acting exhausted ...like she can't push anymore then it's probably time to do something, But if she's still getting up and changing positions that's good. That's kind of how we judge whether it's time to step in with a cow. Wish I could be more help. You don't have a vet that will come out to your place do you?

I am heartbroken. Abby Sue had a C-section today and had 8 puppies in her. One was dead, I guess the one the was faced the wrong way. So, I came home, without Abby, and with the puppies. I have been going crazy trying to take care of them. Some have fed from the bottle some not. They are in a laundry basket under a heat lamp. They are so sweet. They cry for mama. When I pick them up and snuggle them they are quiet. I have 5 puppies left. The two that did not make it were lathargic at the vet's office. I think it was the anestesia. I rubbed them and stimulated them all the way home. I hope I did everything for them that I could. Abby Sue is now spayed and will never go through this again.

Aw, I'm so sorry about Abby and the pups, it's hard to lose a liitle life life that but Abby will be ok and you still have some of the pups for her to nurse. I'm glad it's over for you and her.

I am so sorry to hear that she had a hard time with these babies.
So sorry for the loss of the two little ones, why did the vet not leave them with her? When Dixie had her c-section the babies were allowed to stay with her than we brought them all home the next day.
Just keep trying to bottle feed them until momma is home and keep them warm. Did he tell you how often to feed them? Do you need to help them go potty?
I am sure you did everything to get the babies to wake up - it is not easy to over come the drugs we had a hard time getting 10 pups to over come it.

Good luck with the babies and i hope Abby is doing alright and will be home soon.

Here is a pic of the sweeties. The two precious angels that are snuggled together in the upper left corner are the ones that did not make it. The yellow was a male and the chocolate was a female. They are playing in heaven now. RIP my sweet little ones.
