Rescued from Snow Storm...what am I? UPDATE Chickens were Dumped!!

I sure am glad you found him before he froze to death. He is beautiful and in my opinion a golden polish roo. Gorgeous little man. Keep him warm for us.

I'm so glad that handsome fella got rescued. Wonder why he was in the ditch--hard to believe someone would have tossed him out if that's what happened.

Ok here are some more pictures taken with my cell phone...
Note onthe last picture the what appears to be a blister in between two toes. Same thing is on other foot between same two toes. Is this normal?

My Chicken Girl(Alison 6years in the pic) wants to keep it. I told her that some little girl may be crying her eyes out about her chicken being gone. So the right thing to do was to try and find its owner.(Note: I will give it the ole college try of course, but will knock on a few doors) It was 1 week ago after looking at the McMurray catalog that she was asking for some 'Top Hats'. I told her we weren't getting 25 more birds so sorry....and a week later one magically appears in the snow.... weird.....

I'd keep an eye out for any black scabs on the bottom as it could be bumble foot/infection. Else, since he was in the snow, I'd keep an eye out about frost bite too. He is a beauty. Good luck!

I would definately keep him away from the others...at least 30 days. Thats the normal quarantine time range. As for the blisters....clean them up and apply some neosporin...hopefully they are minor infections. God answeres prayers in wierd ways hu?? I say...let your daughter keep him!

Oh how beautiful, and a big boy! This is a great story, I love that there are so many people crazy enough to pick things up on the side of the road.

When trying to find the owner, make sure you don't give out the breed. Make them identify it! I hope your girl gets to keep it.
