So I have 2 barred rocks in broody jail. We are sitting on 28C waiting on the sea breeze to kick in @ 8am & I go out to check on my girls, do a head count & water down the run.
No surprise to find a Campine missing!
Ha'penny. She doesn't normally go far but I called & called & no chookie came running for an expected treat.
I walked round & round my yard. Of course it would be a Campine ~ who just blends into everything. After 20 minutes I'm starting to worry. An hour & I'm thinking I've lost her & I never heard a thing!
I must have nearly stepped on her a dozen times.

Ten[that's right 10] b... roo...dy eggs under her! She had them all covered too. *sigh*
I'm beside myself with these chooks!
Campines are not generally a broody breed.
I do my best to ensure they are safe & well cared for & this! This is what they do!!!!

I am hot & bothered & Ha'penny is back in the run where she belongs.
