My husband bought three “pullets” at the co-op a couple weeks ago. They were older than I’d prefer, but my husband didn’t consult me before buying them. So they were very skiddish. The sweetest and calmest one and my favorite is a black austrolorp. All of a sudden, I’m worrying my Chicken Noir is a Mr Noir. I don’t have experience to be able to tell. She/he is acting a fool and jumping on the other two. I couldn’t get a very good photo because they wouldn’t be still.

You always want to wait longer to be sure, but it looks like a pullet to me.
I sure hope so. It’s my favorite. She’s just acting like such a rooster. She’s also chest bumping with the others. And she does this running and jumping in the air thing like she’s practicing flogging. We live in the city and can’t have roosters, so I’m being overly worried.

These are not male specific traits. Females can display the same traits. Don't get to worried just yet.
