Rooster's Life on the Line: From Fine to Fatal

Update: He's been continuing to fight whatever he has and is making very slow progress, but progress nonetheless. He eats like a champ, but still has a few problems with drinking enough water (although I noticed he tries to do it himself every once and a while.) He's still inside and overtime I've started to baby him less and less, just monitoring him and checking in periodically to make sure he's eaten, how his poops look and if he's getting enough water. He's now working himself a little harder to manage these needs which is more than I could ask for, but is still far from full-recovery. He stands for as long as he can, but always ends up settling back down for a short while and just two days ago I even heard him attempt to crow twice. He's much more alert of his surroundings now and will look healthy and normal once he stands up and picks up his head to scope out any potential "predators" (which is me startling him when I stand over him and he can't see my face), even walking around for a short while and preening himself. That's all for today, but I'll give more updates soon. This boy is doing his absolute hardest and I just hope he can make a complete turn around...

Just for now, while he's under the weather, feed him whatever he'll eat.

Absolutely, he's definitely eating a lot more and I think those boosts of protein really help..!

My chickens, I have no rooster, have really surprised me with their ability to get better. It seems to take a while but when they've been hurt ( injured leg caught in a wire dog crate) prolapsed vent, vent gleet they have bounced back with patience.

One thing I might recommend is maybe he is in pain. When my girl injured her leg I gave 1 81mg baby aspirin morning and night. If you think he needs it I believe that would be a good dose. Good luck keep up the good work and don't get discouraged. It takes a while but they do get better.
