Maybe it was just the angle that made Bernie's saddle feathers look pointy like a rooster's.
I hope I don't have it backwards, rooster do have pointy saddle and hackle feathers, don't they?

Bernie is too young to have saddle feathers. At this age you look at comb development. Rooster feathers come in at 3-5 months with the adult feathers.
 
Only time will tell. Will you give us an update in a few months? I've been wrong so many times that I find its best to wait for an egg or a crow to know sex.
Hope the little booger gets his wig back soon!
