Love the poetry...that's great
My daughter talked to her science teacher about bringing in some chicks to show the class...turns out that's against the policy...can't bring in chickens or chicks. However, they are allowed to HATCH chicks
So my daughter offered up our fertile eggs and the teacher said YES! She is making a homemade incubator and wants all our different eggs...white, brown, blue, green. Allison is soooo excited! I'm sending the eggs to school with her next week. I don't know what she's doing with the chicks...she can send them back to us or keep them, whichever she prefers.
As for my little broody Sammie, she is doing great
No sign of losing interest, she's sitting tight. She has food and water available, but she's not eating much. I guess that's pretty normal. I've been putting some sunflower seeds and a little scratch right next to her for a treat...she reaches over and takes a few bites.
I'm thinking about candling the eggs tonight when it's dark out...she's been sitting on them since Sunday afternoon. Maybe we'll get to see some veining.
