Hey guys I'm joining in!!! This will techincally be my firs time hatching, (did it like 15 yrs ago when I was a teenager) & only got 1 outta like 40 lol & my dad stepped on it so yea bad experience, but anyways...

Outdoorsii = Putting 10 Australorp eggs, and ??(b/t 4-10) Jersey Giant eggs Fri bout midnight in my Brinsea Hoverbater 1588 w/egg turner!!

Can I join? I'm setting 42 eggs on friday. This will be my 3rd hatch. 1st time I got 17 outta 42. 2nd time I got 5 outta 42. So this time I'm praying to get atleast 50% and if all goes well my next batch will be shipped eggs.

I'll be setting 12 easter eggers,
12 bantam black orpingtons, 12 buff orpingtions, and 6 barnyard mutts.

And of course you can join!! Welcome! Good luck with this new hatch! Can't wait to see how everyones little ones do, and to start seeing pics of all these babies

I am expecting 12 (shipped) wheaten ameraucana eggs on Friday, and I picked up 12 BCM eggs today from a local breeder. I'm going to put them all in the incubator either late Friday or Saturday. This is my first time hatching (actually second sort of, but first time I bought fertile eggs from the farmers market but they must have been infertile or roughly handled because I never got anywhere on them- no development at all. So now I'm trying with "real" eggs and hoping for newbie luck..!

ok Im joining!
mine are going in today, i have 17 swedish flower hens,6 lav orpingtons, a dozen marans and some of my own backyard mixes, which will be BO/RIR crosses.
my SFH,LO's and the marans are shipped eggs and they have been resting since yesterday morning when they arrived.

i have a question.... since its prolly a given that all of my eggs arnt gonna make it, could i possibly pack a few extras the incubator somehow, so i can try and increase my number of chicks hatched?
i have a turner, which i plan to use,42 places. if im tossing non developing ones, i should have room to place them on the turner once non viable ones are found at the first candleing.

Has anyone ever given this a go? If so, how did you do it?

I would wait 24 hrs or longer before you set shipped eggs. I have eggs coming tomorrow and will be setting Sunday evening.
