Here in Germany there are 3 different variants accredited for Araucana traits regarding their heads:

• Tufts without beard/muff
• Tufts with beard/muff
• Beard/muff but no tufts

ETA: And in Germany only the rumpless Araucana are being acknowleged as the true Araucana breed. All other variants like the English Lavender Araucana, Ameraucana etc. have been developed later.

I know that, but muffs aren't an araucana trait. That's why I didn't think it was an araucana with those.

They have a different standard in Australia. From what I've seen Australian araucanas are really variable, almost like EEs are in the US. I've seen pics of some that even have crests.

Both mine had small crests ~ barely noticable, plus beards, muffs & tails.

Nope, I think it's still the oddities that go forward under such circumstances.

Most of mine will survive then & what the next generation of chickens would look like beggars belief!

She sat 4, 3 hatched. There's only one climbing on her, but the other 2 were near by. Actually. I think they were under that wing!
