Agreed... they arent my pets and Im not trying to sustain them. They arent waiting at my house or abandoning their pups for a chicken every 3 months or so.

I dont like to waste a dead chicken to the trash. I also ran out of places to bury them.
Not much different than Flypen feeding the gators and hogs.

And I dont feel a need to shoot them for walking through their territory. Thats definitely not good for them.

I didn't see anyone say they shoot them just because they're alive... but if they come hunting a food source on MY territory, I dang well will protect my own charges... even to the expense of their life over the lives of my birds... and I wouldn't bait them, that's just asking for trouble...

that's good. I would probably do the same. I've thrown rocks at them for getting too close to my property... but they would never be able to get in (well maybe in, but definitely not out lol).

Other people on here are into killing them.

Pretty sure you mean me? I don't even have that many coyotes around. Mostly fox and raccoons. I don't live in a neighborhood and free range a lot of birds. I don't mind the occasional hawk doing what they do. Same with anything else for that matter. Problem is when they set up shop and will take every last one if you let it. I can't speak for anyone else but pitching dead birds right around your property is a dumbass idea. My guess they are taken further away by most.

By the way shubin most of the coyotes that are around here aren't worth killing. Their fur is practically worthless. Fox is good though as long as Mother Nature hasn't stricken them with mange.

Like this one. Wouldn't have survived the winter no matter how many of my chickens he ate. Fox with mange and one without. Slow and painful death while the bugs eat them raw and they freeze to death. It's easy to say Mother Nature is cruel. Most don't actually pay enough attention to it though. I've killed no less than 10 raccoons over the years with distemper too, one came after me. They sit with their head in the hands while their brain cooks and they lose their mind.

Raised this wild animal and he turned out great. Was great little companion but returned to the wild when he reached maturity. Came by and visited a few times over the years... even brought a female back with him. Been a while since I saw him last, but he reached at least 3 years old and could still be alive today. 4.5 years now.

Not the same as feeding coyotes, but just an example that wildlife can benefit from our help

I have seen mange on coyotes. Its terrible; I had a dog get it when I was a kid, and we couldnt cure it without messing up her allergies, to the point she had to be put down.

I got a giggle out of chucking rocks at yotes.

I think havoc was on the money your right there with that "Grizzly man" fella that thought the bears were his family. Not saying I dislike you shub or anyone here or picking fun id hate for folks to lose sleep over such.

): distemper sounds like h*ll

I have Bennett Blueface, Bennett Greys, Typewriters, Butchers, and I'm working on a Ruble hen to go with a Ruble broodcock. I've been waiting on a pair of Pipeliners since last spring.
What's the History on those blues?
Like who started that line?
I've read that some guy in Washington had some real deal blues (i forget the specific name) but apparently he's deceased. Rather pick at your brain than believe Hogwash some enthusiast wrote.
