I thought about building a few of those pens but I think the domes are more versatile, maybe a little more money and work though.

Yeah I've disposed of a bunch the past few weeks. I have never had one actively searching for a chicken but when they find one they will take a bite

Yeah man, I've learned sometimes the only realistic thing u can do is just wait and see what's left

I just did some CAD math (way easier than regular math)... I can make 4 - 48" diameter pens with 50ft. 50' x 12 = 600" 600/4 = 150" But I need to add a roof -- probably use cheaper netting or maybe red roof to make it match

You need to put the computer away and get a good whittling knife. Lol

Yup I fully accepted a big loss while driving home. Like I said I was lucky. Still thousands without power.

definitely more versatile and permanent but the round one's are quick easy and more so imo for single birds and they good to have as spares just in case. Used in conjunction with each other domes and rounds work well together. I wouldn't have just rounds but lots of folk do

while on the subject how was Sandy for you? Just wondering my peeps and I were talking about where we stood on hurricane prepping today

I live further inland from the coast so it wasn't too bad. Most of the damage up here was along the coast and up into the northern nj coast. Just some downed trees and a lot of rain.

Before that though hurricane Irene was worse. We had real strong storms come through on a Sunday and got 11 inches of rain and then another 10 with Irene. So it was about 21 inches of rain in 3 days. That's the worst I've seen it around here. Other than the occasional 3-4 ft snowfall and the odd ice storm.

Dang lot of water in a short period of time, and snow too.
