well the chick was born wet so i havent cleaned it off yet i have it in the brooder with some murphys and cubans and he likes to get in there face so i think he is coming around i had one more but it died the whole lot was messed up im lucky to have this one...

My last few batches of shipped eggs havent gone so well either. I'm convinced it's as much the heat and the eggs starting to develop in transit as it is the rough handling. I got a fairly expensive pair of pumpkins and mugs.

The heat is the only thing that has changed around here for me. I figure a lot of the eggs I've hatched have come from warmer areas but it was cooler here. Now that it's hot here too I believe the eggs get warm enough to start developing. Not mention I've seen eggs from two different shipments from the same guy in AZ with slighty different development rates which kinda seems like that might be the case but I don't know for sure. Although I have hatcched plenty of eggs with wonky air cells so you never know. Oh I also had an 0-12 hatch that was awesome!! These particular eggs could have been packed better as well.

I thought the temp had to be at least 95F for anything to start developing?

It don't take long for the inside of a truck to get there in 80 degree plus temp along with the sun. Even here in NJ it's supposed to be 90 tomorrow. Way hotter than it normally is this time of year.

Or even of hens start sitting on em before they're collected too.

It is kinda funny when u think about how unnatural it is to ship eggs across the country for hatching. Heck I guess your lucky if you get any to hatch really.
