Yeast.... The recipes I found call for it

I am currently in mourning. I really needed vodka to make the vanilla extract. However, I wasn’t thinking about the fact that it takes the whole bottle.
I kept some vodka back. I’ll have to try really hard to get back to the liquor store for more vodka soon. I could use water (it’s only about a cup), but that’s just so wrong to me!
I will try to find comfort in my other bottles.

Question! If I buy vanilla vodka, isn’t it the same as vanilla extract? Or, is it a sugary vanilla syrup, and not a suitable substitute?

DH made one of my favorite breakfasts...grits with soft egg on top, pieces of sausage and rye toast on the side. We love grits but no one in this part of the country seems to know what they are.
