I'm not a great fan of peppers in my chili...but then I'm not a great fan of any peppers. I do like chili powder. Or at least I use to use it. Lately I've made chili without it. Since I don't have any.A little late on thawing my cow but going to attempt HM Chili 2-nite.
Any suggestions on preparation?
I usually do--
Ground meat
kidney beans
bell peppers
onions
chili peppers
tomato sauce and soup
diced toms
salt/b pepper/chili pow/cumin/pinch garlic/paprika
Not always those but those are the basics.
I have used V-8 juice before. Used grated parm cheese for a thickener.. mushrooms sound really good. I am out at the moment. Excellent idea though.I started throwing in Tomato Juice lately with mine. I also like to add some relish.
I've been thinking about throwing mushrooms in with it. But I haven't done it yet. I forgot the vinegar last time...and the chili falls flat without it.
It's just regular white vinegar...and a decent sized splash right from the bottle, cap off. I should add I just tip it upside down...lol. I can't say I measure anything when I make something. Guessing I'd say a good 1/4 to a 1/3 of a cup at least. Maybe a bit more. That's for a full pot.Vinegar? Hmmmm ... Interesting. I might have to try that. How much & what kind???
