Silkie gender?

I know silkies are notoriously difficult to sex but I thought I would try anyway! This is our first silkie and we are in love. I was told she (I hope) was three months old. Also, is this considered a blue silkie? Thanks!!

Too young to tell for sure, definitely

BUT, just for giggles I will guess hen. You need to update us when you hear a crow or get an egg! I had a silkie "rooster" lay an egg once, lol.

Yep, I am pretty sure that's considered blue.

The comb is small, so it looks like a pullet at this point. Things can still change. Watch the comb. Any yes, it is the blue variety. Very pretty!

Very pretty! I'm going to guess female because her fluff looks very different than the male silkie we have at that age. (We think ours is male due to the comb and wattle development we are seeing so far. Also, very fighty with our other male)

The breeder we got our Silkie from shows Silkies and has for many years. She showed me the comb on ours (she was 8 weeks old at the time) and told us she was a pullet. Our Silkie had a comb like yours, so I'm pretty sure you have a pullet.

What's the difference between a blue and a gray? I just saw that Ideal Poultry has gray Silkies. I thought blues have black heads & hackles?
