This morning we checked and there seems to be a little pip! Everyone cross your fingers!
They are silkies, they were posted to us on Tuesday arrived Friday the 1st so we let them rest for 24 hours and they went under at like 8am on the 2nd.What was the date and time that you put the eggs under the hen? What breed of hen?
I like the day old chick idea.OK so they should have hatched Saturday morning.
I knew the eggs were silkies. I asked what breed the setting hen was.
The eggs are now 2 days late. I hate to tell you this but they probably are lost.
I would normally say to let them sit for a couple more days in an incubator but I don't want to do that to a broody hen.
Hopefully one or two will hatch but if it doesn't, I would either break the broody or get a couple day old chicks for her to raise.
