I now have 6 Browns, and your right, I love them, I think they are mannered better than the whitesLove the pics! I've got 2 brown leghorns also. They're good birds, I just find them to be a bit flighty. Other than that, they are sweet, and get along with all the rest! Thank for sharing.
They went back to bed like teenagers!@WhoDatChick @BY Bob @Parront @Grammy60 @Sally PB @Sequel @Ladies-Eight
My morning, I go out every morning to "open the coop". I scoop the nights poo from under the roots, check the water & feed, open all the windows. this time and came down from the house side so I could get a pic of them sitting on the outside roost,

So I walked the fence line outside the run, Bob was following like he wanted to eat me for BK.... I could tell this morning my rooster Bob was in a mood!
I got the window in the run open, he followed,,, I moved the stump that I use to keep the door from flying open at night,,,, got the door open,,,, Bob is still outside dancing,,,,, I stepped in the coop and as soon as I turned sideways he came at me and nailed my wrist, THAT HURT BOB! got my leg(not to bad) Turned and stuck the Mr. Blue rake at him and said NOT this morning BOB!, and he kept coming,

boy I tellyou, I went after him like a true mother of a sassy
13yr old the rolls their eyes at you
-- I MARCH right after him, pined him to the fence wall of the run, he hollered, I grabbed him by the tail,, he squirmed,
, tried to bite me,, I flipped him around, folded his wings down and PUT! him under my arm,, I held his head still and talked VERY close to his face---Mr. BOB, you will not bite me-- you will not end up in Rooster Heaven, Roosters that bite go to Rooster stew hell,,, is that what you want HAHAHAHAHA
so I walked around inside the coop with him under my arm, He was huffing and puffing and I said, you are on a time out, and you wont get down until you are quite!, knock it off.
When I was ready to start scooping poo and getting back to why I was there, I released him out to the run and he went straight to 3 different hens ( poor girls) I dont think he does actual business, he just wants someone to boss around,,
I could tell the chicks did not sleep on the root. I didnt go back out at dark and make the older hens move over.View attachment 2752998
So, as soon as I got the light on and started scooping, all of the chicks got up on the roost [they went back to bed]

What a bad boy. Don't do that to our name Bob. You need to be nicer. Take care with that wound. I would want it to get infected.@WhoDatChick @BY Bob @Parront @Grammy60 @Sally PB @Sequel @Ladies-Eight

Well deserved.I made it back at 2:30, County Co-Op for feed,Lemon water on Ice First
then I was able to get everything else on my
list at Wal-Mart which is good, I didnt have to go to costco. Folks her act like they are brain dead, their driving's not good 5 under the limit, the move slow through the store and some just stand there like they have no idea where they are and why,, patience, patience, patience
I got everything put away, gave fresh water to the flock and dogs, and now me....

If they would not pile on top of each other at night they would sleep better,They went back to bed like teenagers!
I put some Benadryl cream on it this morning and it took the swelling down and looks better. Both of my legs are finally healing from him, I have kept him at bay for a week and a half, he really is smart and good at taking care of the hens BUT holy cow,What a bad boy. Don't do that to our name Bob. You need to be nicer. Take care with that wound. I would want it to get infected.
By the way, I love "stew hell" that is very creative.![]()
