They look good. Seems like things are going pretty well with your efforts to combat the heat. 👍👍

I'm getting ready for the initial house spray now.
I really think , even though they didnt want to get wet and I didnt spray them, they could see this was a good thing. I went out every hour to spray, I didnt make mud but sprayed/mist enough it gave them damp cool spots to be. It is a wonderful NORMAL 60 on the porch this morning.

I'm so glad that it went back down last night finally. Mine scatter when I spray but then run right back when the hose is off. They have learned for sure.

I have sprinklers in some of my pens but the spray covers all of the pens. I do turn on the sprinklers when it's hot out for awhile. It cools the earth down some. When it's really hot the sand is hot and the birds will run from their coops to get under the shade trees. After I sprinkle they are all out in the nice cooled sand pecking around.

Thats good, the water does cool it down, hot sand burns.

I have a Leghorn that keeps finding her way out of her pen. After she gets out she tries to figure out how to get back in. I haven't found how she is getting out. Some years ago I had two Leghorns, Houdini-1 and Houdini-2. No matter what coop and pen I put them in they would always find a way out, escape artists. They got out one too many times and one just disappeared and the other only feathers behind the coop. Probably either a fox or coyote. The birds have nice large shady pens and plenty of food, water and treats.
