I know you are all stressed and doing the best you can,
Our animals/pets depend on us
if it is 95 on the porch then it is 102+ out in the coop/run
It's when they are holding their wings away from their body in conjunction with some of the following symptoms that you may need to take action.

Panting. Chickens only pant if they are hot, so this can be the first indicator that they are becoming overheated!
Their comb and wattles will feel hot to the touch.
Seems to have lost her appetite.
Lethargic behavior. Weakness.
Closed eyes while standing.
May be staggering when walking.
The may lay down completely spread out with wings and feet extended.
Watery droppings caused by increased water intake
Decreased egg production (though admittedly this sometimes happen
during heat waves without the chickens suffering from heat stress!

Unfortunately, my chickens pant and keep their wings spread all summer long.. unless it’s raining! I keep a fan in the coop from spring to fall... here are some pics of panting gals... I have many more🙄

It WAS 90 at noon I''ll go back out after I eat something and get a cool shower, holy smokes its a bit warm

1:33 it is now 100 out
This is just crazy. How many days until it breaks?
