Good Morning, I got up at 4 but am just now sitting down for my first cup of coffee, I got the fire going and piddled around till 5 picking up and moving things, I got the flock out at 5 then the dogs were in and out twice,, but I made it up and down, I just had to let the dogs out again--- we have a motion solar light at the fer edge of the field that came on, I can see it from the computer desk, So most likly a rabbit but could be a coyote, so I let the dogs out, added wood to the fire and,, my coffees cold hahahaha

I am longing for a warm porch, I'll just have sit in my rocker by the wood stove and look out the window , and thats good too

Well my hens started their 25th week on Monday, yesterday I got 7 eggs , this morning a soft shell was in the sand under the coop, typically a first egger so thats one for today---
so 6 more hens should start laying this week. I have 13 hens.

I know some of my girls got "back to it" early after molting -- first egg was Dec 2! -- but I wish I'd get more than one every other day! I want to make a frittata (12 eggs), and have fried rice (3), and make bread (3), and other goodies.

We use 8 on the weekends for breakfasts. Still needing a few store bought (ugh) eggs.
