Actually, we have called them 'Peathings' for years, because we couldn't tell for so long what gender they were (I am better at it now), and so we just called them Peathings!

BTW, I did look at all those different colors, thanks Steve, and it was very interesting.

I still cannot identify many with any certainty, but I now know that I have a male and female silver pied. They are very pretty, too.

Yep, this guy has no idea what is what, he sold a peach peacock, well it was purple.

Even if he raised chicks from a peach hen, only the males will be split peach, none of the hens unless the father was or split peach........

Sad thing he is making crap up........3/4 peach noway!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! either it is peach or males can be split....not hens

Update: Today I discovered the Purple Silver Pied male dead in the pen. The last few days he was acting off and holding a leg up. I had wormed him with Safeguard and dusted him when he got here, and he has plenty of food and water. : ( I emailed the guy, and even though he was thin to begin with, and not the color he told me I doubt anything will come of it.... just my bad luck i guess. : (

Sorry for yet another loss, you really got screwed. Hope things work out with you for compensation. I think authorities should be called to investigate his operations....if he's doing things right then he has nothing to worry about, however it sounds like he could be in a heap of trouble the way he is dealing in sick birds. Maybe contact Agriculture Commissioner of FL? I'm sure they have a department that deals with this....just a thought. -Nathan

yea at this point find out why the birds are dying, send carcuss of to be tested (ask county extension agent)then i would do the best i could to shut down his little poultry opeation.
