What is the protein content? I believe @casportpony uses Turkey starter for all her birds.
I use turkey *starter* that's 27% protein, but since a literature recommends lower protein for ducks, I don't like to recommend it. Turkey starter will have 70 ppm niacin which is why I don't have to supplement mine. Turkey grower/finisher does not have 70 ppm niacin, so I don't know if that could be used.

Is it starter? Do you have a TSC near you? If so I can send you a link to the food I buy. I add niacin to the feed sometimes just be sure they are getting what they need.
TSC? I'm not sure but I passed a new feed store on my commute today so I'll stop by and see if they have starter.

The funny thing is, all of my 8 ducklings eat the same food and none are showing signs of Niacin deficiency :/ are muscovy ducks prone to being deficient?

Update: Mac got 4 full droppers worth in a shot glass and then I poured in mealworms and let him eat his fill. He polished off the 4mL of B-complex!
He's doing great for day 1 with the proper dose. He doesn't seem to be seizing anymore when he tries to stand, and can actually balance a little by himself!

He's still on his hocks (idk if that's what the part of the leg is called), but if i hold his leg in a way the puts him on his feet, he can balance by himself for a short time. :)

Thank you to everyone for all of your help. We aren't out of the woods yet, but he's improving steadily and I will keep you all updated!!
:wee:wee
Well I’m believing he will continue to get better!

There is some literature that states you can give them 100 mgs/day when they are showing symptoms. But I wouldn’t give him that much for his whole life. But maybe for the first 8-10 weeks.

I don’t believe so. They are great at surviving and breeding in the wild so I’d say they are pretty tough birds. But Pekins were bred for rapid growth to butcher. So picking traits like strong legs etc. didn’t really matter.

just watched the video, and it almost looked like a stomach cramp! I don't know if ducks can get cramps, but how does the poop look now?
Such a beautiful bird, I'm glad he is improving.
