Sore back

I have 2 hens who are loosing their feathers on their back at the tail feathers. Any Ideas? Going to TSC for something to dust for mites.

Do you have a rooster in with them?

yes 1 rooster and yes he's a really horny one, I was thinking that might be the problem.

Yeah, losing feathers like you describe is usually from the rooster treading on them too much when he is mounting them.

Yes. This is true. I bought a few hens which had feathers missing. The hens had too many Roosters on them. I am glad to say that they now have all their feathers back and as happy as ever!
