Oh Al, so happy for you!

. Yay! I know it doesn't bring back your other guys, but it's more love. Never a bad thing.

I totally agree with Heather. Exactly what I was thinking. Congratulations! Can't wait to see Boomer. Pictures, please!!

Good morning all!! Happy Monday! I'm getting my son ready for Conditioning camp this morning, finished walking the dog, letting the girls out, and getting DH out to work.
Today is another cleaning day. Today it's the office and den, which both are horrifying. My office looks like a hoarder lives here, and just piled all her stuff in there. I can't deal with it any more, so it's going today. I'd like to see the floor by 5pm. the walls by 8.

It's mostly papers and soap/candle making supplies, so I really have no clue WHERE the stuff is going, only that it can't be in piles. I already feel bad for my middle son, since his job is garbage...

How was everyone's weekend? The BBQ was alot of fun, then yesterday we had to replace my truck battery (it was 13 years old-it had a good run) and Pathmark had a sale on crab legs, so we had to have those for dinner last night. Yum.

My daughters bff stayed over last night, and they're right next to me in the living room, so I'm watching my shepherd lick their faces and feet and they're groaning and trying to get away from her. VERY good entertainment for the morning.

I have to find the kitchen tools for canning this morning. I'm going to try my hand at blueberry preserves, and I can't find the jar holders anywhere. Any ideas where I can buy these things, besides on line?

What are everyone's plans for this gloomy Monday?

Good morning all. Well Tina, jenne and Chris? have been making plans for a "chicken run".What we do for this guys..
I now think that one of the little black silkies is a roo, I just can' win. If all 5 end up males I think Imgoing to call that Ageay I got them from in Brimfield.I guess I'm just not suppose to have Polish in my life...

al congrats on your new dog

Suzanne This is the table runner I talked about the other day.

The kids make it look like a real farm. I just went down the block to preview an auction and right net door the guy has a SHIrT load of chickens 11 or 12 at least chicken math go figure...

LOVE the table runner!

Just came back from lunch with one of the teachers I worked with last year. Lunch with the other one tomorrow. I really liked these women a lot - I'm glad we're staying in touch. Bobby's working again today, so I'm gonna try replacing the curtain rod in the LR by myself. If you listen real close, you'll probably be able to hear the cursing!

Good monday folks!
Humid as all get out here today, paying for the beautiful weekend I suppose.

Al....I'm excited about your new family addition! Love where you got Boomer s well.:) He'll be a good buddy I am sure.

Liking that table runner! Fabrics are beatutiful!
If I get some silkie gals you can come visit me.

Anyone for marans down the road? I have 5 right now that'll be ready to go in a few weeks.2 are clean leg and 3 feathered legs. I hope to keep just one of these.

Roberta I am almost convinced the wade line one is a roo. He is growing up so fast and comb turning darker pink by the day. He/she is beautiful and hand raised up to this point.

Suzanne.....I can hear you!!!!

In the bato nowr: 4 I think are all white silkie eggs....4 blue andelusions....1 blue orp.....2 blue ameraucanna.......1 blue hamburg......4 blue silkies....13 EE's from gorgeous eggs.......4 splash marans....hatch date 8/10/12.

OK on a different subject.
I have 2 likely young ground hogs raiding my garden now. I just found that they dug a tunnel under my old stone property line wall and my neighbors yard.Gardens on either side....how convenient!

I thought they were cute when I spied 2 out in the deep back at first.
Now......I am worried about them and damage they could do.

Any experience with them anyone?
My girlfriend just told me she has trapped 14 recently after they ate through her barn floors to get to the horse grain andthrough her wooden fences! Yikes!

My great uncle says that groundhogs are tasty... My grandfather created a ground cannon once when I was a kid. He poured gasoline into the opening at one end and lit it. Crazy old man... Flames and smoke shot out all the other holes though and they got rid of all of the groundhogs that came out. Barbaric, I know, but effective apparently. I wouldn't recommend it. We have a ton of them here. I have nearly broken my ankle a few times by stepping into new tunnel openings. They cause a lot of damage. Our dog keeps them away most of the time. BTW, don't corner one. They can be pretty nasty when frightened. Get your trap out. I would put it right in your garden or near to the burrow. http://www.batguys.com/articles/trapping_woodchucks.html

I have experience - bad one, lol! We nicknamed ours Godzilla because it stomped all over my melons like a rogue iguana crushing Tokyo. They are next to impossible to trap as well, very smart and will avoid metal. So far the dog has been the best deterent this year. My sisters husky killed a baby woodchuck once. My solution of air horn plus air pellet gun last year was middling at best. I would really try borrowing a pair of dogs to flush them out.
